Metro rail will run on the day of the 12th national parliamentary election scheduled to be held on Sunday.
Trains will stop at each station for the movement of passengers as per regular schedule.
Nazmul Islam Bhuiyan, deputy general manager (admin) of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Ltd (DMTCL), on Saturday said: “The metro rail will run even on polling day. No notice of closure was issued.”
At present, metro rail Uttara North to Motijheel has been opened for passenger movement at all 16 stations.
Between these stations, metro rail is running from Uttara North to Motijheel from 7:30am to 11:30am while it’s running from Uttara North to Agargaon till 8:30pm.
