Metro rail services on Dhaka’s Uttara-Motijheel route were suspended for around 26 minutes on Wednesday after a train door suddenly opened while the train was in motion.
Services resumed after the technical fault was repaired.
The incident occurred at around 7:37am on Wednesday.
Train services resumed at 8:03am after the necessary repairs, MRT Police (Operations) Inspector Md Mohsin Sheikh confirmed.
He said a door at the rear section of a metro rail train travelling from Uttara North station towards Motijheel suddenly opened while the train was in motion.
As soon as the issue was noticed, train operations were temporarily suspended to ensure the safety of passengers, he said
Metro rail services on the Uttara-Motijheel route are currently operating normally, authorities said.
