An electoral camp of Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumdar was set on fire in Naogaon on Friday morning.
Porsha upazila Awami League General Secretary Mofazzal said local leaders and activists of the party went home after a meeting as part of the minister’s election campaign in Naogaon-1 in that camp till late at night. Then, in the early hours of the morning, someone threw a fiery object into the camp through the window.
Posters, banners and umbrellas in the camp soon caught fire, he said, adding that the incident has been reported to the police.
Porsha police station Officer-in-charge (OC) Atiyar Rahman said the police will take action after an investigation.
