Citizen services provided by all cantonment boards have been brought under the MyGov platform through an initiative of the Directorate of Military Lands and Cantonments to establish a technology-driven, transparent and citizen-friendly service system.
The initiative was implemented under the overall supervision of the Cabinet Division, with support from the Aspire to Innovate (a2i) Program and the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Division.
Under the previous system, service recipients had to visit cantonment board offices in person to obtain services. Applications, document submissions, fee payments and certificate collection were handled manually, often requiring multiple visits and resulting in additional expenses, time and inconvenience.
To reduce travel, time, expenses and inconvenience for citizens, a pilot project was initially launched by incorporating 2 citizen services of the Dhaka Cantonment Board into the MyGov platform. Following the successful pilot, steps were taken to digitize services at the remaining 14 cantonment boards.
As part of the process, 3 service analysis workshops were held in March 2026, with officials and employees from the 14 cantonment boards participating. A total of 63 types of citizen services were reviewed and analyzed, and 19 basic services were identified for digitization. Subsequently, 185 online application forms were developed for these services across different cantonment boards.
In June and July 2026, 7 region-based validation workshops were held to verify and finalize the online application forms, service fees, service workflows and templates.
In August and September, 140 officials and employees, including Cantonment Executive Officers from all cantonment boards, received practical training. This completed the necessary preparations for managing services and conducting operations through the digital platform.
Currently, 185 online application forms covering 19 basic services are publicly available on the MyGov platform. Citizens can apply online from home, pay applicable service fees and receive certificates or services containing QR codes.
They can also monitor the progress of their applications online and provide feedback on the services.
Cantonment boards can receive, verify, investigate, process and dispose of applications online through the same platform. This is expected to accelerate administrative activities, reduce paperwork and strengthen transparency and accountability in service management.
As part of the current government's priorities for simplifying services and digital transformation, the inclusion of cantonment board citizen services on the MyGov platform has opened a new avenue for integrated, technology-driven service management.
