Awami League has made candidate changes in two out of the eleven seats in Comilla for the upcoming 12th national parliamentary election.
In the Comilla-1 (Daudkandi-Titas) constituency, Science and Technology Affairs Secretary Engineer Md Abdus Sabur has been nominated in place of Major (retd) Subid Ali Bhuiya.
Additionally, Industrialist AZM Shafiuddin Shamim has been nominated instead of M Nasimul Alam Chowdhury Nazrul in Comilla-8 (Barura) constituency.
The party's General Secretary Obaidul Quader announced the names of the candidates on Sunday.
The Awami League candidates in the other nine unchanged seats are Selima Ahmed Meri in Comilla-2 (Homna-Meghna), Yusuf Abdullah Haroon in Comilla-3 (Muradnagar), Razi Mohammad in Comilla-4 (Debidwar), Fakhrul Islam Munshi, Comilla-5 (Burichang-Brahmanpara) Advocate Abul Hashem, Comilla-6 (Sadar) AKM Bahauddin Bahar, Comilla-7 (Chandina) Dr Pran Gopal Dutta, Comilla-9 (Laksam-Manoharganj) Tajul Islam, Comilla-10 (Sadar South, Lalmai, Nangalkot) AHM Mustafa Kamal (Lotus Kamal) and former railway minister Mujibul Haque in Comilla-11.
