Dhaka returning officer: Electoral code not violated so far

The total number of nomination submission will be announced after 5pm on Wednesday

Dhaka Division’s Returning Officer KM Ali Azam said aspirants are submitting their nomination papers in a peaceful manner without violating the electoral code of conduct. 

He made this remark while talking to the press on Wednesday.

KM Ali Azam said: “A total of 32 returning officers are working at six tables to collect nomination papers of candidates from 15 constituencies in Dhaka city. Also, 15 magistrates have been deployed in the capital to ensure that the electoral code of conduct is being properly followed.”

“You will get to know the total number of nomination submission after 5pm,” he added.

According to the new schedule announced by the Election Commission, the nomination papers will be scrutinized on December 2 with December 9 being the last date for withdrawal of candidature.

Election Commission has advised the nomination aspirants not to take more than seven supporters along with them when submitting nomination papers.
