Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad will be contesting the 11th general polls from Dhaka 17 and Rangpur 3 constituencies.
Jatiya Party Presidium member SM Faisal Chisty filed Ershad's nomination forms for Dhaka 17 in the Dhaka divisional commissioner's office around 1:15pm on Wednesday, according to a press statement.
Chisty himself submitted his nomination forms for Dhaka 11 constituency.
Presidium member Mashiur Rahman Ranga filed Ershad's nomination papers for Rangpur 3 in the Rangpur deputy commissioner's office at 12pm.
Meanwhile, Rowshan Ershad, senior co-chairman of Jatiya Party, filed nominations for Mymensingh 4 and 7 constituencies. Co-Chairman GM Quader filed for Lalmonirhat 3 and Secretary General Ruhul Amin Hawlader filed his nomination for Patuakhali 1.
November 28 is the last date for submitting nomination forms.
When is the election?
On November 12, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda announced a fresh schedule for the parliamentary election.
The commission said the polls will now be held on December 30 instead of December 23.
