Fire broke out at Jagannath Hall of Dhaka University, sparked from an explosion in gas lines on Tuesday.
The gas pipe at the canteen of October Bhavan exploded and sparked the fire around 6:40pm, Jagannath Hall Provost Ashim Kumar Sarkar said.
“Though the fire spread to adjacent areas, no one was injured,” he added. “Students and staffs tamed the fire soon and fire fighters doused flames around 7pm.”
Losses incurred could not be estimated in initial reports.
