In a shocking move, a class VIII girl in Jessore’s Abhayanagar upazila has been barred from attending school by the school authorities because of its feud with her mother.
“I have been asked not to go to school,” Afreen Jahan Nisha of Nawapara Shankarpasha High School told reporters yesterday. Her mother Shikha Islam alleged that her daughter had also been threatened with a transfer certificate.
On January 11, Nisha’s mother was assaulted by Shammi Akhter, a member of the school’s managing committee. Later, Shikha filed a general diary about it.
Nawapara Shankarpasha High School’s Headmaster Mahbubur Rahman admitted the incidents.
