Information and Broadcasting Minister Jahir Uddin Swapon on Friday said the government is making strides to restructure the education curriculum so that students develop innovative thinking, scientific research capabilities and the skills and qualifications needed to create technology-driven solutions.
“The government is putting highest importance on creating a knowledge-based generation,” he said while virtually addressing the inauguration ceremony of the Upazila-level “Startup Science Project and Innovative Idea Exhibition Programme,” in which school and college students from Gournadi upazila of Barishal participated.
Educational Excellence Support Scheme (EESS) under the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education organized the programme held at Gournadi Upazila Parishad Auditorium with Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md.Ibrahim in the chair.
The minister said the government is working to design the curriculum in such a way that textbooks promote scientific research and technology-based problem-solving skills.
He emphasized that the curriculum should help students develop the ability to conduct research and solve real-world problems through science and technology.
