Police recovered the body of an unidentified young man from a roadside garbage dump in Sreepur of Gazipur on Friday morning. The body was found around 8:00am beside the Dhaka–Mymensingh Highway near Adib Dyeing Factory in the MC Bazar area.
According to Kamruzzaman, Officer-in-Charge of Highway Police Station, locals and passersby spotted the body and informed police. Later, police recovered the body and observed injury marks on the victim’s head.
Police suspect the death may have resulted from a road accident, although they have not ruled out the possibility of murder and subsequent disposal of the body.
Efforts are underway to identify the victim and determine the cause of death. The body has been sent to Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
