Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has imposed restrictions on public movement within 200 yards of SSC and equivalent examination centers in the capital to ensure smooth conduct of the exams and uninterrupted traffic flow.
In a circular issued on Saturday, signed by DMP Commissioner (acting) Md. Sarwar, the police said special measures will be in place as the SSC and equivalent examinations begin simultaneously across the country from April 21 at 10:00 am. A total of 127 examination centers will operate in Dhaka city.
The DMP has requested city residents and motorists to comply with the directives to facilitate the safe and timely arrival of candidates and to maintain order in surrounding areas.
Under the instructions, the public—other than examinees and exam-related personnel—will not be allowed within 200 yards of examination centers during the exam period.
Candidates arriving by private vehicles will be required to be dropped off at less-congested nearby locations and walk to their centers. After the exams, they are also expected to walk to designated pickup points.
Parking will not be allowed on roads surrounding examination centers, and legal action will be taken against violations.
Parents and guardians have been asked not to remain on roads near exam venues, as such gatherings disrupt traffic flow and are punishable under the Road Transport Act 2018.
The DMP also advised other commuters to avoid roads around examination centers at least two and a half hours before the start of exams.
