SSC, equivalent exams begin across country

The written exams will conclude on May 13, while practical exams will be held from May 15 to May 22

The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations for this year have started simultaneously at more than 3,000 centers across the country.

A total of 19,928,181 students from 11 education boards are participating in the exam.

On Thursday, the SSC exams for Bengali First Paper, Dakhil Quran Majid & Tajweed, and SSC & Dakhil Vocational Bengali 2 subjects began at 10:00am.

The exams will be conducted according to the full syllabus, with full marks and time. The exams will continue until 1:00 PM.

From 9:00am, students were seen preparing to enter the centers. They sat in their designated seats after checking the seat plans. Many guardians accompanied the students. A large crowd of guardians was seen in front of the centers, causing traffic jams in various places.

It has been reported that the theoretical SSC exams will end on May 13. From May 15 to May 22, practical exams will be held.

The theoretical Dakhil exams will run until May 13, while practical exams will take place between May 14 and May 18.

The SSC and Dakhil Vocational exams will conclude on May 13. Practical exams for SSC and Dakhil Vocational will be held from May 13 to May 22, and practical training will continue from May 23 to July 1.

This year, under the nine general education boards, 701,538 male students and 788,604 female students are participating in the SSC exams. A total of 18,084 schools are represented by 2,291 centers where SSC exams are being conducted.

Under the Bangladesh Madrasa Education Board, 150,893 male students and 143,833 female students are taking the Dakhil exams. These students from 9,063 madrasas are participating at 725 centers.

Under the Bangladesh Technical Education Board, 108,385 male students and 34,928 female students are sitting for the SSC and Dakhil Vocational exams.

During the exam and before or after it, only the candidates and the people involved in exam-related activities will be allowed inside the exam center. Section 144 will be enforced around the exam centers during the three-hour exam period. No one unrelated to the exam will be allowed to move within 200 yards of the center.

The use of mobile phones and electronic devices, including watches and unauthorized pens, is prohibited for everyone except the center secretary. Only a basic (feature) phone without internet or photo-taking capabilities will be allowed for the center secretary.

In the SSC and equivalent exams, candidates will not be allowed to use "programmable" calculators. However, "non-programmable" scientific calculators will be allowed.
