NCTB seeks demand note for 9th, 10th grade textbooks for 2025

‘Printing and distributing free textbooks to students is a priority’

Update : 09 Sep 2024, 07:46 PM

The National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) directed officials to send the demand note for the 2025 academic year textbooks for the 9th and 10th grades.

The order, which was published on Monday, said that printing and distributing free textbooks to all students in the country by January 1 for the 2025 academic year is a priority and a matter of importance for the government.

To implement this initiative, all district, upazila, and thana secondary education offices under the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) provide continuous support, from submitting the demand for textbooks to ensuring they reach the students' hands.

Like previous years, the demand for textbooks for sixth to 10th in the secondary level (Bangla and English versions), Dakhil, SSC and Dakhil Vocational levels for the 2025 academic year has been collected online through a web application.

However, according to the government's decision, the students of ninth and 10th grades will follow the branch and cluster-based textbooks based on the 2012 national curriculum instead of the revised and updated textbooks released in 2023.

The NCTB notification states: "Please collect the demand for grades IX and X textbooks from all educational institutions within your region, district, upazila, and thana, and submit it through the new web application within the specified time frame."
