Education Minister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury outlined a phased approach for the reopening of educational institutions.

Speaking to reporters following a high-level meeting at the Ministry of Home Affairs on Tuesday evening, the minister emphasized that the plan involves a careful, step-by-step reopening process.

The minister, who was accompanied by seven ministers, four secretaries, and key law enforcement officials, highlighted that the decision is driven by a commitment to public safety and risk management.

Educational institutions will be opened through a security risk assessment and consultation with all stakeholders, the education minister said.

He said: “We ensure that innocent students who took part in the protests peacefully will be protected and will not face any administrative harassment or legal complications."

"Students or parents who believe they are innocent can contact us directly," said the minister, adding: "We will offer all necessary support and assistance. Parents should provide relevant information to the appropriate law enforcement agencies, particularly regarding the students currently being questioned by them."

He further said: "We are conducting security risk assessments daily and everyone will be notified when the risk is deemed acceptable."
