Officials from the Indian High Commission have assured their support for Jagannath University in the fields of education and research.
The Indian High Commission officials met with Jagannath University Vice-Chancellor Prof Sadeka Halim in the Vice-Chancellor's meeting room at Jagannath University on Tuesday. During the meeting, they expressed their desire to provide support.
Second Secretary (Education) Rajendra Singh and Attaché (Education) Jayant Bakshi represented the Indian High Commission.
They also proposed establishing a “Swami Vivekananda Chair” at Jagannath University.
Following the meeting, the vice-chancellor sought the cooperation of the Government of India, through the Indian High Commission, in conducting collaborative academic and research activities between Jagannath University and various renowned higher education institutions in India.
During the discussion, Prof Sadeka Halim addressed the current status of Jagannath University, including information about teachers and students, the development progress of the new campus, and various initiatives undertaken
After the meeting, the guests praised the vice-chancellor's various initiatives and the cultural activities of the university.
Later, the guests, along with the vice-chancellor, visited the Swami Vivekananda Memorial Plaque at the Pogose Laboratory School premises. During this visit, the guests invited Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Sadeka Halim to establish the Vivekananda Chair at the university and promised full cooperation from the Indian High Commission in this endeavor.
Jagannath University Treasurer Prof Md. Humayun Kabir Chowdhury, Acting Registrar Prof Md Ainul Islam, Proctor Prof Mohammad Jahangir Hossain, Director (PRIP) Md Tanveer Ahsan, Director (External) Dr Md. Abdul Malek, and others were present at the meeting.
