The results of this year’s Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and its equivalent examinations are likely to be published on December 30.

The Inter-Board Coordinating Sub-Committee on Sunday said that the SSC results and the textbook distribution program would be held the same day.

The date of examination results would be finalized after the return of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina from the Maldives, said a member of the committee.

Dhaka Education Board Secretary Prof Tapan Kumar Sarkar said: "We earlier sent a proposal to the Ministry of Education to publish the results between December 26 and 28."

However, due to the prime minister's visit to the Maldives, the date had to be rescheduled between December 28 and 31, while the new book distribution program is scheduled to start on December 30.

“Maybe the SSC results and the book distribution program can be launched on the same day,” said Prof Tapan Kumar Sarkar.

The prime minister is scheduled to return to the country on Tuesday.

Earlier, Education Minister Dipu Moni said the results would be published within 30 days after the end of the examinations.

The SSC and equivalent exams were held in November.
