In the first public exams in schools in nearly 20 months, over 2.2 million students are taking the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent exams, which started from Sunday under special rules.
The SSC tests are being held in reduced syllabuses of three elective subjects. Students will be graded on compulsory and fourth subjects through subject mapping.
The school-leaving exams are usually held in February every year, but the tests for this year have been delayed as educational institutions have been shut since March last year after the Covid-19 pandemic unfolded.
With the pandemic situation improving, educational institutions were reopened in a limited scale in September this year.
