State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Md Zakir Hossen on Thursday said the government will resume midday meal program for primary school students from July this year.
The government will resume midday meal program so that the nutritional status of school-age children improves, he said.
The state minister said this while visiting different schools in the remote char-area Narkelbaria of Dhaka district's Dohar upazila and Faridpur district's Sadarpur upazila on the banks of the Padma River.
During a discussion with the teachers, students and parents, he assured them of solving the infrastructural problems of the schools and building the wash block as soon as possible.
He also gave assurance of constructing the teacher-dormitory in Narkelbaria.
Private Secretary (PS) to the State Minister Mohammad Mikail, Dohar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mobasher Alam, Sadarpur UNO Ahsan Mahmud Rassel and Narkelbaria Union Parishad Chairman Nasiruddin Sardar were present, among others.
