A total of 14,384 newly selected assistant teachers will join district primary education offices on October 1 and be posted to their respective schools three days later, Education Minister Dr ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon said on Tuesday.
The teachers were finally selected for appointment under the “Assistant Teacher Recruitment 2025” program, State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Bobby Hajjaj told Parliament on behalf of the education minister.
He made the disclosure in response to a question from lawmaker Md Selim Reza during the question-answer session of the third session of the 13th National Parliament.
Deputy Speaker Barrister Kayser Kamal was in the chair.
Hajjaj said the 14,384 selected candidates will join the district primary education offices on October 1, 2026, before being posted to their respective schools on October 4.
Meanwhile, 36,960 posts of head teachers are currently vacant, the state minister said.
He said the process of filling the vacant posts through promotion of eligible teachers is underway following the disposal of Writ Petition No 73/2023 by the High Court Division of the Supreme Court.
