The Ministry of Education has formed a specialist and another probe committee to identify mistakes in textbooks of grade six and seven and ascertain whether the errors were the result of any negligence by National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) officials.
Specialist committee is going to be led by Dhaka University professor Dr Abdul Halim. The committee will submit their recommendation within one month to fix errors.
Meanwhile, the probe committee will be led by Khaleda Akter, additional secretary, Secondary and Higher Education Division, Ministry of Education. They will submit their report within three weeks.
Earlier, Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni had announced the formation of a committee with experts to correct mistakes in textbooks in the new curriculum and another to investigate whether someone made mistakes intentionally or unintentionally from the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB).
