Education Minister Dipu Moni has proposed that the age barrier and time constraints should be removed for admission at any level of education.

The minister made the statement at an event on “Accreditation in Higher Education” in Dhaka on Wednesday.

At the event, she also launched the accreditation process for the country's higher education institutions at International Mother Language Institute.

Dipu Moni said: “We should provide unlimited opportunities for admission in any subject at any level of education by removing age gaps and time limitations while there are huge similar opportunities across the world.”

“So, Why is it being said in our country that the entrance exam cannot be given more than once or twice at the university level?” she added.

The minister further asked why can't a law student change his subject to become an engineer or a diploma engineer?

She also criticized the enrollment of extra students at university levels while urging the educational institutions to make academic master plans.

Dipu Moni noted that the universities which have completed 100 years have been asked to review the relevance of the subjects introduced at the time of their establishment.
