Update : 30 Dec 2017, 09:45 PM
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has asked the authorities concerned to give attention to the educational institutions whether academic activities are conducted properly there. "Our students are meritorious and we are giving all sorts of facilities to them. I have no idea why they could not pass in the examinations. So I think we need to pay attention to all institutions to check whether they are teaching properly ," she said. The prime minister said this on Saturday while formally inaugurating the free textbook distribution programme and receiving the results of this year's Primary Education Completion (PEC), Ebtedayee, Junior School Certificate (JSC), Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) and equivalent examinations at her official Ganabhaban residence here this morning. Sheikh Hasina formally opened the free textbook distribution programme by handing over books of primary and secondary levels to students. The premier also directed the authorities concerned to formulate time-befitting curriculum for the students to keep pace with the modern world. "The world is changing regularly. So we'll have to prepare a time- befitting curriculum to keep pace with the modern world," she said.
