DSCC cancels trade licence of eight coaching centres

Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has revoked the trade licence of eight coaching centres. The licences were cancelled through an order issued by DSCC’s related department on Thursday. The coaching centres are Expert Academy Coaching, Gateway International School, Greenhill Tutorial, Combine Tutorial, Udvash Coaching Centre, Sunny Hills School and College, Glorious School and College, Cadet Academy and Rakibul Islam Honours’ Coaching. Of them, Gateway International School, Sunny Hills School and College and Glorious School and College were operating coaching centres as pretend schools. DSCC Chief Revenue Officer Yousuf Ali Sarder confirmed the matter to the Bangla Tribune. Twelve cases have also been filed against these coaching centres. Yousuf said: “We are cancelling the trade licences of all the coaching centres one by one and no newcomers are being given approval.” “Moreover, they have been pasting posters, hanging signboards and festoons without paying any heed to the existing regulations in this regard which have led us to file 12 cases against these institutions,” he added.
