Dean of the Rajshahi Univresity's (RU's) Faculty of Fine Arts, Mustafizur Rahman, has resigned from the post.
Mustafizur submitted his resignation letter citing “personal and family reasons” on Sunday.
This move comes after the the university's decision to suspend him and another teacher from examination related activities for the next 10 years over communal questions in admission test under the Faculty of Fine Arts.
Mustafizur Rahman and Zillur Rahman, a member of the question paper making committee, were meted out with the punishment at a meeting of the RU syndicate on December 6.

Sirajus Salekin/Dhaka Tribune</b.RU Public Relations Office Administrator Prof Probhash Kumar Karmakar told Dhaka Tribune: “He (Mustafizur) submitted the resignation letter to the vice chancellor citing personal and personal reasons. The vice chancellor accepted the resignation letter.”

On October 25, the exam paper of the ‘I’ unit entry test under the Faculty of Fine Arts of the university included the question – What is the greatest book in the world?
The question had four possible choices – a) Holy Quran; b) Holy Bible; c) Holy Injil; d) Geeta.
Another question was: “On which date the Myanmar Army and armed Buddhists attacked Rohingya Muslims?”
The two admission test questions gave birth to a row which made the university authorities to take actions against the two teachers.
