A private car caught fire while in motion in front of the Kurmitola Army Golf Club in Dhaka Cantonment on Monday morning, prompting a rapid response from fire service and police personnel.
The incident occurred around 10:45am, and the blaze was brought under control shortly afterward.
According to Talha Bin Jasim, an officer at the Fire Service Media Cell, the Kurmitola Fire Station received a call about the fire at approximately 10:50am.
A firefighting unit was immediately dispatched to the scene and quickly extinguished the flames.
Cantonment Police Station Officer-in-Charge Alamgir Jahan said smoke was first noticed coming from the car’s engine while it was travelling toward Uttara.
The driver promptly stopped and exited the vehicle before the fire intensified.
Police at the scene alerted the fire service.
No casualties were reported in the incident, and authorities said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
