The authorities of Dhaka Medical College have announced the indefinite suspension of all academic activities. Students have been instructed to vacate their dormitories by Sunday afternoon.
Professor Dr Md Kamrul Alam, principal of Dhaka Medical College, confirmed the development to Bangla Tribune. The directive was issued through a notice on Saturday.
However, hospital operations will continue as usual, according to the college administration.
The notice said that, following an emergency decision by the Academic Council of Dhaka Medical College on Saturday, all academic activities for MBBS students will remain suspended from Sunday onwards, until further notice.
Students currently sitting for professional MBBS examinations under the university, as well as foreign students, will remain exempt from this directive.
