Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) recently said in a press release that banned factions of the Chhatra League and its affiliated organizations have been conducting sudden flash processions in various parts of the capital in an attempt to create instability and spread fear among the public.

The DMP issued a clarification on the matter on Saturday, reports Bangla Tribune.

According to the DMP, these demonstrators follow police movements, disembark from vehicles at specific locations, conduct a procession for a couple of minutes, and then quickly leave the scene.

Later, photos and videos of these processions were circulated on social media to assert their presence.

Referring to the demonstrators as “miscreants,” the DMP said that although it is not always possible to arrest them on the spot, many have been apprehended later through the analysis of photos and video footage and brought under the purview of the law.

The DMP also mentioned that the police remain vigilant in preventing the unlawful activities of these isolated and illegal organizations.

Additionally, the public has been urged not to be unnecessarily alarmed by such sporadic activities.
