Two individuals have been arrested in connection with an attack and snatching involving two Iranian nationals during a "mob attack" in the Bashundhara Residential Area of Dhaka.
The arrested individuals are Abdullah, 20, and Sabbir Mia, 19, Vatara police station Sub-Inspector Habibur Rahman confirmed on Wednesday.
Earlier, Assistant Sub-Inspector Choton Chandra Das filed a case over the attack.
According to the police, the two Iranian nationals were injured in the attack, and their cash and mobile phones were snatched.
It was reported that the two had arrived in Bangladesh two days prior, with the intention of staying for a month.
A video of the attack has been circulating on social media.
The injured Iranians were taken to Kurmitola General Hospital for treatment and were later brought back to their hotel in Banani.
