State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam on Friday urged authorities to maintain law and order and prevent mob formation, while also keeping commodity prices under control during Ramadan.
Speaking at an views exchange meeting with government officials and employees at the conference room of the Faridpur deputy commissioner’s office, she said: “Attention must be paid so that a mob is not formed. During Ramadan, commodity prices must be kept at a tolerable level, and security must be ensured for everyone regardless of political affiliation. My party wants to serve everyone as a servant of the people.”
Addressing district and police officials as chief guest, she stressed that strict action must be taken against real criminals whenever law and order deteriorates, without considering party affiliation. She also emphasized that police investigations must be impartial, no innocent person should be punished, and genuine criminals must be brought to justice free of political influence.
The meeting was chaired by Faridpur Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Kamrul Hasan Mollah. Special guest speeches were delivered by Faridpur-4 Member of Parliament Shahidul Islam Babul.
Other attendees included Superintendent of Police Nazrul Islam, District BNP Convener Advocate Modarres Ali Isha, Member Secretary AKM Kibria Swapan, Faridpur Press Club President Kabirul Islam Siddiqui, and senior officials from various government departments.
