'We will try to publish the results as quickly as possible and complete the admission process so that classes can begin'

Update : 14 Feb 2025, 10:12 PM

The vice-chancellor of Jagannath University (JnU), Professor Md Rezaul Karim, has announced that the results of the admission tests for various units of the 2024–25 academic session will be published on a shift-wise basis.

While visiting the examination centre of the Social Science Faculty (Unit D) on Friday, the vice-chancellor shared this information with reporters.

He said: "Since this year each unit is conducting shift-based exams, the results will also be published separately for each shift. The results will be announced based on the proportion of attendance in each shift."

He further added: "We will try to publish the results as quickly as possible and complete the admission process so that classes can begin. Our goal is to announce the results within 15 days of the examination."

The vice-chancellor mentioned that the first shift of the 'D' unit exam was successfully completed at 9:30am on Friday, and he expects the attendance rate to be between 85% and 90%.

Regarding the decision to hold admission tests outside the cluster admission process, he said, "According to the law of Jagannath University, we wanted to organize the admission tests independently. We have received support from all sides, and we are satisfied with this process. This system will help us select the most talented students, who will play a significant role both in the country and abroad in the future."

Notably, in the 'D' unit, 24,939 students are competing for 590 seats, meaning there are 42 candidates for each seat.
