The committee is expected to submit its report within seven working days

Update : 30 Dec 2024, 10:37 PM

Kamalapur Railway Station is facing controversy with passengers protesting an obscene video displayed on a monitor there, prompting an investigation.

According to reports, the incident took place early on Saturday.

Station sources revealed that around 2:30am, an explicit video suddenly began playing on the monitor above the inquiry counter.

Passengers and others present were embarrassed by the situation.

Attempts to turn off the monitor failed, prompting one passenger to throw a stone, breaking the monitor to bring the situation under control.

Bangladesh Railway Dhaka Divisional Manager Mohammad Mohiuddin Arif said that a three-member investigation committee has been formed to uncover the cause of the incident.

The committee is expected to submit its report within seven working days.

Arif further said the screen in question is typically used to display train schedules.

It is manufactured by a company called Easy Vincent.

A letter has already been sent to the company to ensure no unauthorized content appears on the display, he added.

Notably, on October 28, a message reading "Awami League Zindabad" appeared on the entrance monitor of Kamalapur Railway Station.

Following that incident, the displays were temporarily shut down.

On December 14, a similar incident occurred at Khulna Railway Station, where the text "Sheikh Hasina will return again" was displayed.
