He also demanded compensation for the families of the deceased and proper medical care for the injured

Mufti Syed Muhammad Faizul Karim has expressed deep concern over the violence and casualties stemming from clashes between two factions of the Tabligh Jamaat at Kakrail Markaz Mosque on Wednesday afternoon.

Offering prayers for the souls of the deceased, he called for those responsible for inciting the incident and those directly involved in the attacks to be identified and brought under the law. He also demanded compensation for the families of the deceased and proper medical care for the injured.

After learning about the situation, Faizul Karim visited the Kakrail Markaz Mosque to express his condolences and discuss the matter with responsible parties.

Others present included Maulana Gazi Ataur Rahman, Atiar Rahman, Maulana Lokman Jafari, Maulana Khalilur Rahman, Shahidul Islam Kabir, Rezaul Karim Abrar, and Obaid bin Mustafa, among others.

Faizul Karim said: “The Tabligh Jamaat is a global movement of peaceful and loving propagation of Islam. Through respectful conduct and polite language, it has gained worldwide acceptance for inviting people to Islam and promoting mutual respect and welfare.”

He added: “It is unfortunate that Tabligh Jamaat has split into two factions over certain statements made by Maulana Saad. However, it is even more concerning that these factions have resorted to clashes, setting a bad example for the Muslim Ummah.”

“The incidents surrounding the upcoming 2025 Ijtema are unimaginable. Violence and deaths go against the essence, history, and character of Tabligh, and it is shocking and painful to witness such its tragic repercussions,” he further said.

Urging the leaders of both factions to resolve their issues, he said: “I appeal to the leaders to resolve their disputes among themselves or through a committee comprising nationally and internationally recognized Islamic scholars from Deoband, Karachi, or the Arab world. But avoid this kind of violence under any circumstances.”
