Employees at Star Kabab and Restaurant in Banani have been accused of assaulting a customer, leading to injuries and the arrest of 11 employees, including the manager, prompting the management to issue a formal apology and pledge to provide meals for 1,000 orphaned children as a gesture of goodwill.

A statement signed by the restaurant's CEO, SM Moniruzzaman, was published on their Facebook page on Tuesday, addressing the incident.

The restaurant expressed its intent to cover the medical expenses for the injured customer, Saleh Mohammad Rashid Alok, who requested that the management provide meals for 1,000 orphans as a condition for forgiveness.

Star Kabab has agreed to serve these meals by October 15.

In their statement, Star Kabab described the incident as a misunderstanding between a staff member and a valued customer.

They expressed deep regret and embarrassment for the "unfortunate incident," formally apologizing to Alok. The involved employee has been dismissed as part of the response.

The statement further emphasized the restaurant's commitment to providing high-quality service and announced that strict measures would be implemented to prevent similar occurrences in the future.

The altercation began when Alok complained about a foul smell coming from his food while dining with a friend. The restaurant manager reportedly dismissed Alok's concerns, suggesting he had never experienced tikka before.

When Alok protested, several other customers voiced similar complaints, leading to a heated exchange with the staff.

At one point, the manager summoned all employees, resulting in an alleged assault involving 14 to 15 staff members, which left Alok with head injuries.
