Bangladesh Hindu Jagoron Manch (BHJM) staged a sit-in protest at Press Club, Dhaka and brought out a red flag rally on Friday to press home their eight-point demand.
During the protest, BHJM coordinator Prodip Kanti Dey discussed the discrimination minorities face in the country and announced the organization's next protest schedule.
Prodip also said their eight-point demand should be met, as the chief advisor has promised.
Roni Rajbongshi, another BHJM coordinator, said: “They should not have given us fake promises if they do not want to meet the demands.”
Speakers at the protest also pointed out their insecurity about wearing religious symbols publicly.
On October 4, BHJM will organize a mass rally at the Shaheed Minar.

Sagor Debnath, a student of Sheikh Borhanuddin College who attended the rally, said: “People who attacked the minorities have been identified in some cases, we want to see a speedy justice to that.”
He added: “When there are attacks in Mazars, it says that some Muslims are not safe too. When Muslims are not safe, although being the majority, how can we be safe?”
Anik Sarkar, another student of the institution, said: “People who attacked the institutions are not general Muslims. Their identity is they are extremist.”
Rabiul Islam, a student of Jamiatul Manhal Uttara who was watching the demonstration from a distance, said: “Our prophet does not teach us to attack any religious institution. The people who attacked had done a wrong thing.”
After the demonstration in Press Club, BHJM members held a red flag rally towards Ramna Kali Mandir.
