The Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s (DMP) Hazaribagh Station has resumed its operations with the assistance of the Bangladesh Army.
Police activities at Hazaribagh Station began on Friday morning.
During the reopening, Hazaribagh police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Noor Mohammad, said: “We have commenced all station activities with the support of the military. There has been no vandalism or attack on this station. The local residents ensured that our station remained unharmed.
“Together, we will fight against theft, robbery, extortion, and various other crimes,” he added.
Following the recent upheaval that led to the fall of the government, many police stations across Dhaka and other parts of the country faced attacks.
Protesters vandalized, looted, and set fire to several stations, resulting in injuries and fatalities among police personnel.
In response to these threats, the Bangladesh Police Subordinate Staff Association and the Bangladesh Police Association announced a work stoppage due to safety concerns.
On Friday, services resumed at 29 police stations in Dhaka, including Gulshan, Tejgaon, Newmarket, Shahbagh, Ramna, Badda, Kalabagan, Dhanmondi, Kotwali, Chawk Bazar, Sutrapur, Demra, Gendaria, Motijheel, Sabujbagh, Shahjahanpur, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Hatirjhil, Shah Ali, Kafrul, Bhashantek, Darussalam, Rupnagar, Cantonment, Banani, Uttara West, North Khan, and Airport Station.
