Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh said that they would be able to remove the sacrificial animal waste before the 24-hour target.
He said, "By 2pm, 100% of the sacrificial animal waste was removed from Ward No. 1 of DSCC."
In the areas under DSCC, the waste cleaning activities from cattle markets began on Sunday night. On the day of Eid, waste removal from the markets continued, along with the cleaning of sacrificial animal waste.
Meanwhile, the ward councillors of DSCC have reported that they will remove all waste well before the 24-hour deadline.
To this end, under their direct supervision, the corporation's cleaning workers are spending busy hours.
On Monday around 2pm, a visit to various areas under the Dhaka South City Corporation showed that the cleaning workers of the city corporation were actively cleaning the alleys and main roads of the sacrificial animal waste. DSCC's live monitoring showed that the cleaning activities were in full swing to fulfil the mayor's promise to the residents of the capital.
Councillors of Ward No. 56 Mohammad Hossain, Ward No. 74 Azizul Haque, and Reserved Ward No. 19 Shefali Akter said that as per the mayor's instructions, the waste removal activities of the sacrificial animals were ongoing.
Additionally, Councillor Mohammad Hossain of Ward No. 56, along with councillors of several other wards, arranged Eid meals for the cleaning workers.
