Train services resumed after more than two hours after a train derailed at Kamalapur Railway Station in the capital.
The incident took place at around 10:30am on Tuesday.
According to witnesses and railway authorities, the Panchagarh-bound “Ekota Express” train from Dhaka derailed near the station area shortly after leaving at 10:23am.
No casualties were reported.
Kamalapur Railway Station Manager Masud Sarwar said some compartments of the Ekota Express train derailed due to technical fault. “Other trains were delayed soon after the incident. Trains on other routes will leave on time from 1pm.”
