Amid the rain, the opposition BNP has started its rally at its Naya Paltan protesting the verdict against the party's acting chairman Tarique Rahman and his wife Zubaida Rahman.
BNP's Dhaka metropolitan north and south units jointly arranged the protest rally on Friday afternoon.
The rally started in front of the party's central office in Naya Paltan of the capital at 2:48pm.
As it has been raining heavily since 1pm, it was delayed by around an hour.

The place in front of the rally venue has been submerged in rainwater due to heavy rain.
But ignoring the rain, the leaders and activists gathered at the meeting place after Jummah prayer.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will address the rally.
Security has been strengthened around the rally.

BNP is holding protest rallies in all the districts and metropolitan cities of the country, including Dhaka, on Friday, terming the verdict of the trial court in the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) case against Tarique Rahman and Dr Zubaida Rahman as fabricated.
The rally is being organized by BNP's Dhaka metropolitan north and south units and Dhaka district units.
A Dhaka court on Wednesday sentenced BNP’s acting chairman Tarique Rahman to nine years imprisonment and his wife Dr Zubaida Rahman to three years in a graft case filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) in 2007.
Judge Md Asaduzzaman of Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge's Court handed down the verdict against Tarique and Zubaida who have long been staying in London.
The court also fined Tarique Tk3 crore and Zubaida Tk45 lakh.
