Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mobile courts have imposed fines amounting to Tk46,000 during anti-dengue drives conducted to control the spread of Aedes mosquitoes.
The raids were conducted in Adarsh Para, Mothertech, Aga Sadkc Road and Dhalpur areas on Sunday.
During the raid, Executive Magistrate Salim Shahnewaz visited 45 houses and establishments in Adarsh Para and Mothertech areas of Ward No 4 in Zone No 2. During the inspection, a fine of Tk20,000 was imposed in one case due to the discovery of larvae in an establishment.
Executive Magistrate Md Aminul Islam in zone No 4 conducted a raid on 23 houses and establishments on Aga Sadek Road in Ward No 23. During the inspection, fines totalling Tk15,000 were imposed in three cases due to the presence of mosquito larvae in three establishments.
Executive Magistrate Md Safi Ullah carried out raids on 31 houses and establishments in the Dhalpur area of Ward No 5 in Zone No 5. He collected fines amounting to Tk11,000 in three cases for the discovery of mosquito larvae in three establishments.
A total of 99 houses and establishments were visited during Sunday's operation. During this time, fines were imposed due to the identification of mosquito larvae in seven houses and buildings under construction.
