Four explosions of crude bomb-like objects have been reported in Aminbazar, Savar, the gateway to Dhaka.

The explosions occurred on the road in front of a filling station in Aminbazar on the Dhaka-Aricha highway at around 2pm on Saturday.

Shortly after, police found six fresh crude bombs near the blast site, in an abandoned paper bag beside a three-story building on the side of the road.

Saiful Islam, a witness, said four-five crude bomb-like objects were thrown from a moving pickup van on the side of the road.

Ariful Islam Sabbir/Dhaka TribuneResidents said the sound of the explosion was heard from a few hundred yards away.

Nurul Amin, the manager of the filling station, said the explosions occurred simultaneously but he did not see anyone.

Meanwhile, after the recovery of the six crude bombs, law enforcement defused them by submerging them in a bucket of water.

Dhaka Additional Superintendent of Police Abdullahil Kafi said: "We went to the spot after hearing the explosion and recovered six crude bombs. We are investigating the incident.”
