Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is set to inaugurate the Agargaon-Motijheel part of the metro rail in October, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has said.
Quader, also general secretary of the ruling Awami League, made the announcement at a seminar on the operations of MRT Line 6 (Dhaka Metro) at Bangabandhu International Conference Center on Sunday.
Construction work of the elevated expressway up to Tejgaon would be complete within this year, ahead of the upcoming general election, he said.
The minister also warned of legal action against those who were putting up posters on metro rail pillars.
