The Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has formed a nine-member probe committee to investigate the fire that broke out at Dhaka's New Supermarket on Saturday morning.
The committee was formed through an office order signed by the DSCC Secretary Akramuzzaman on Sunday.
Marina Nazneen, regional executive officer of the DSCC Region-1, has been appointed as the convener of the committee, with Akand Mohammad Faisal Uddin, chief social welfare and slum development officer, serving as the member secretary.
The probe body has also been tasked with making a list of the people who suffered losses in the fire to determine the exact amount of damage.
The committee has been asked to submit a report within the next three days.
