Police on Monday afternoon charged batons on people as they created chaos over collecting scraps from the Bangabazar fire site while clearing work lingers further.
The incident took place around 12:45pm.

The contractor, appointed by the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), has yet to clear the area that saw a massive fire on April 4. It took over three days to douse the fire completely.
On April 6, the cleaners said they would need at least four days to complete their work.
The DSCC says there were 2,961 shops in the six tin-shed markets at Bagabazar. The traders, however, claim that there were over 5,000 shops

On Sunday, DSCC Mayor said that traders affected by the fire will be able to start their business by setting up wooder platforms (Chowki) from Wednesday.
