The Uttara neighbourhood of Dhaka has turned into a festive zone with thousands of Awami League leaders waiting in bated breath for Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to inaugurate the much-awaited Dhaka Metro Rail.
The country will enter a new era of commuting when the prime minister inaugurates the metro rail at 11am on Wednesday.

Enthusiastic members of the ruling party and its affiliates in the morning were seen chanting different slogans near the Uttara station of the metro rail, awaiting the arrival of Sheikh Hasina, president of the Awami League and the country's longest-serving prime minister.
Bangla TribuneThe general public and students of different educational organizations were in the crowd as well.
The event stage is ready, and many senior Awami League leaders as well as Cabinet and parliament members have already reached the spot.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will open the Uttara-Agargaon part of the metro rail at a colourful ceremony at Diabari of Uttara.
Later, she will buy a ticket and travel to the Agargaon station.
