Bus movement turns normal following BNP rally in Dhaka

A large number of passengers were waiting for buses on both sides of the roads to reach their destinations

Update : 10 Dec 2022, 07:21 PM

Bus movement on different routes of the capital started to become normal following the conclusion of BNP rally in Golapbagh area.

Since the morning, commuters were struggling to reach their destinations due to the low number of public transports on roads.

Passengers alleged that the bus owners stopped the bus service without any prior announcement due to the BNP rally.

Besides, the bus movement was lower than usual due to extensive police search, said the leaders of the owners' association.

However, buses started to roam the Dhaka streets since afternoon.

Eyewitnesses said that buses were seen in Shahbagh, New Market, Kawran Bazar, Mohakhali, Badda and Uttara areas of the capital.

They also said that a large number of passengers were waiting for buses on both sides of the roads to reach their destinations.

Shakil Ahmed, a private worker waiting for the bus at Kawran Bazar, said: "I heard that the bus will run after evening. So, I am waiting for the bus.”
