Police recovered the body of a teenage domestic help from a flat in the New Eskaton area of the capital on Monday night.
The deceased was identified as Amena, 13, daughter of Md Mamun, of Maheshpur in Jhenaidah.
A team of Hatirjheel police sent the body of Amena to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College morgue for an autopsy after it was recovered at night from the flat of Md Moniruzzaman in Eskaton, said Sub-inspector Jahangir Alam.
Initially, the residents of the flat claimed that Amena died by suicide after hanging herself from the window grill with a towel in their absence.
Police said that further legal action will be taken after talking to Amena's family members.
