The Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project authorities have asked Dhaka residents to avoid two lanes of the Airport Road for 52 hours, as the traffic situation may worsen due to road development work.
A special traffic advisory, signed by Project Director ASM Elias Shah and issued on Tuesday, advised commuters to avoid the road, if possible, from 8pm on Thursday till midnight on Saturday.
Work will be underway on two of the four lanes towards Mohakhali in front of Dhaka Airport Railway Station, the notice read.
It also urged people and vehicles to use alternate routes because of the possibility of gridlocks.
The project authorities expressed their apologies for the temporary inconvenience.
