A school student was killed as a bus hit his motorbike in the city's Mirpur area on Tuesday.
The deceased was Md Hridoy, son of Moslem Uddin, resident of Kaji area. He was a nine-grade student at a local school. He also used to run a tea shop.
The accident occurred in Senpara Parbata of Mirpur around 12:30pm, confirmed Kafrul police station Sub-Inspector Jahirul Islam.
The accident took place when the ‘Swadin Paribahan' bus rammed into his motorcycle and ran over it, leaving him dead on the spot, said the SI.
“We have seized the bus. Unfortunately, the driver has managed to escape,” said Jahirul.
Hridoy's body will be sent to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital morgue for an autopsy after the legal process finishes, said the police officer.
