"Socio Psyche Consultation Centre" of East West University started its journey on Monday with Mind Shaper, one of the leading mental health service centres in Bangladesh.
On Sunday, the inauguration ceremony of “Socio Psyche Consultation Centre” was completed with Mind Shaper as a consultant for the psycho-social and mental well-being of the students of East West University.
The university and Mind Shaper have been organizing counselling services and workshops to develop the mental health of students in a joint initiative, according to a press release issued on Monday.
The goal of Mind Shaper is to make counselling services available since depression, anxiety, stress, and other psychological problems have increased a lot in the present times due to various reasons.
For the past three years, Mind Shaper has been providing various counselling and training including individual counselling, couple counselling, family counselling, group therapy, corporate counselling, and Academic Workshops in mental health development.
Mohammad Shahriar Khan, chairman, and co-founder of Mind Shaper said: “The main aim of Mind Shaper is to ensure the mental well-being of the students by providing counselling services and monitoring them.”
Earlier on August 28-31, 2022, Mind Shaper organized a four-day program on "Mental and Physical Wellbeing" for students at East West University. The program was free for all ongoing students of East West University.
East West University's "Socio Psyche Consultation Centre" was inaugurated by the Vice-Chancellor of East West University Professor MM Shahidul Hassan.
East West University Pro-VC Dr Muhammad Ziaulhaq Mamun, Registrar Mashfiqur Rahman, Chairperson and Associate Professor Dr Taskeed Zabid (Department of CSE), Chairperson and Professor Dr Sufia Islam (Department of Pharmacy), Chairperson and Professor Dr Fauzia Mannan (Department of Sociology), and Chairperson and Professor Dr Md Mubarak Hossain Khan (Department of Population and Public Health) were also present on this occasion.
